Kid Friendly! Venison Taco Melt

 

In the forever-quest to make game tasty and kid friendly, here’s a great recipe that’s, well, not just kid friendly, it’s EVERYONE friendly!  What’s not to like….plenty of cheese, taco seasoned ground venison, corn chips, and more cheese!  Super simple, quick, and yummy!

 

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Venison
  • 1 pkg Taco Seasoning
  • 2/3 Cup Water
  • Chili Cheese Corn Chips- enough to cover the bottom of a 9×9 pan (or plain corn chips) Lays is going to thank me here….Fritoes work best here.
  • 1 Can Cheddar Cheese Soup
  • 1/2 Cup Milk
  • 8 to 12 oz Shredded Mozzarella
  • Toppings like shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, salsa, sour cream, etc.

Instructions

  1. Brown venison and prepare as taco meat according to the seasoning package (using water).
  2. Pour corn chips into a 9 x9 pan to cover the bottom.
  3. Top with taco meat.
  4. Mix soup and milk in a sauce pan and heat until smooth.
  5. Top taco meat with cheese soup “sauce”.
  6. Top with cheese (8 oz to 12 oz depending on the level of cheesiness desired).
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes until bubbly.
  8. Serve with lettuce, tomatoes, and any additional desired toppings.
